Serve God by Serving Others

Appalachian Trail Servants is not just our name. It represents our purpose. It is our prayer that we will be known for our ability and desire to serve. We want to provide services that point hikers directly to God and not to ourselves. We do this in a variety of ways.

wataugalaketrashBe a Trail Steward! There are consequences of neglecting God's creation (Jeremiah 12:4-11). God wants us to keep our camps clean (Deuteronomy 23:12). So, we try to be good stewards of God's creation.

We have oppotunities to serve in this area for people of ages and varying levels of physicality.  First, we work alongside trail maintaining crews to trim the trail and take out trail trash. Second, we take water samples along the trail and report the results. Interested?  Want more information?  Click here.

Be a Trail Chaplain! We send Christian hikers to hike long-distances as Trail Chaplains. Trail Chaplains hike 3-6 months at a time on various long-distance trails.

A long-distance trek is no vacation. As a chaplain, the hike is no longer your own hike. It is the hardest time you will ever love.

Interested? Apply to be a trail chaplain.

hostelsmallerBuild a Trailside Hospitality House! We also feel led to open a trailside hospitality house (a.k.a. hostel) for hikers along the Appalachian Trail. There are at least five reasons that a hospitality house would benefit both hikers and churches (click here to find out what the reasons are).

Please donate to make our dream of having a hostel a reality.
